3:30—5:00 p.m.   T-Coils and Loops  Relevance in 2019

T-Coils & Loops were introduced in the thirties and are more relevant today than ever.  This course will review how to select, program & use T-coils as well as learn the differences in types of loop installations for use in the clinic setting as well as the community.  1.5  Hrs.

Director of Government & Chapter Affairs at IHS

Alissa will update us on the federal activities  related to the implementation of the OTC Hearing Aid Act within the 2017 FDA Authorization Act.  She will also review the status of the veterans hearing healthcare initiatives.  Additionally, she will share the impact from the Federal Communications Commission & other agencies as it relates to hearing healthcare.  1 Hr.

8:00 – 9:30 a.m.  Ethics In The Hearing Healthcare Environment: 
What Are Your True Colors?

This course will review hearing health care ethics.  Ethics that are part of our professional code of conduct and challenges to ethics in changing patient care.  Participants will be given strategies to better serve our hearing impaired consumers and to maintain professional conduct in the workplace.   1.5 Hrs.

10:00 – 11:45 a.m.  Innovative Solutions to Today’s Fitting Dilemmas: 
Diana Ackerman, Au.D.
Clinical Educational Specialist with Signia
Participants will be able to identify the most common fitting dilemmas that the patient and provider experience. Audience members will also be able to determine multiple solutions to today’s hearing aid fitting challenges.  1.5  Hrs.

12:00 – 1:15 p.m.  Business Luncheon and 58th Annual Meeting


1:30 – 2:30 p.m.  Highlight on Manufacturing 
Attending manufacturers will be invited to share new features and innovations with their products.  1 Hr.

Midwest Ear Institute
Participants will learn criteria for referral for implantation, what paperwork is needed for referrals, what happens during the initial visit and subsequent visits as well as insurance information, and much more!     1.5 Hrs.
